About the Greater Charlotte Chapter
The Greater Charlotte Chapter has had a strong start to the year with two very interesting and informative programs. Joan Connell, Director of the Office of Clinical and Translational research at Carolinas HealthCare System spoke on the topic of “Research: It was the Best of Times; It was the Worst of Times.” In March, Michael Jay of Rx Trials spoke on “Start Up Costs and Line Item Pricing for Research Sites,” a pertinent and very practical topic. Plans are underway for presentations in on May 11 and August 10 which will include the speaker, dinner and time for networking. We plan to offer 2 contact hours credit for each of our evening meetings.
The GCACRP Program Committee is hard at work already preparing for the Fall Conference to be held on the UNC Charlotte campus on October 29. The working topic for this all day seminar is “Social Media and Research.”

Joining and Renewing Chapter Membership
ACRP National recognizes the immense amount of work and dedication local volunteers put into making Chapters operate. In an effort to simplify local Chapter dues collection and membership tracking, ACRP National has created a system to move these processes in-house at the ACRP Global Headquarters. ACRP National produces invoices for membership dues for all members on a regular cycle based on membership expiration dates. These invoices are generated three months prior, month of, one month after, and final notice two months after national membership expiration date.
On these invoices, ACRP National has added a line item called "Local Chapter Dues" for those affiliated with a local chapter. This line item will have the name of the local chapter along with that local chapter renewal rate (which will match your national dues renewal date). Upon return with payment, ACRP National will update the individual record with new national/local membership expirations dates for both areas of the database.
To join the Greater Charlotte Chapter, please log-in to the Members Only site and follow the instructions provided here.
