After graduating from college with a degree in accounting, I began my career working for an accounting firm. In order for me to progress in my career, I needed to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Positive Press for the Clinical Research Profession

Advances in medicine and science come from new ideas and approaches developed through research. New medical treatments must prove to be safe and effective in different levels of clinical trials with a certain number of healthy volunteers and subjects before they can be made available to the general public. Membership organizations such as ours have a role and responsibility to educate government agencies about the profession they represent. The Association Board of Trustees agrees and in January 2010 they formed the Regulatory Affairs Working Group, which is now known as the Regulatory Affairs Committee. The Regulatory Affairs Committee became a standing committee in January 2011 with a mission to educate and work collaboratively with relevant regulatory agencies, legislatures, and other government entities and officials to enhance the protection of human subjects that participate in clinical research and to advance the interests of the clinical research profession. Our New Year’s Resolutions

Membership in associations and medical societies is important. It is one part of how we identify with the diverse field of clinical research, and how we network within the enterprise. Membership is also a way for us to achieve collective goals – certification and professional development.
